The updater is usually run as part of the automatic distribution process. As system administrator, you download the latest version of SchoolBase from the website, extract the files into your Release folder, replacing any old versions, then open your new SchoolBaseOpen file. The updater will automatically run and create the new locked version of SchoolBase and SBReports ready for your staff to use.

If there are ever any problems with the update process, or you wish to check what updates have been run and what the content of those updates was, it is possible to see Version update from your DBA menu.

This gives you the opportunity to re-run your updates, test queries built in the system, and to see the updates that have already run. The box in the lower half of the form is where you will see a description of your progress through updates as they are running.

Pressing Run updates runs the updater. When this has successfully completed you will see the following message.

Test queries runs just the query builder part of the update process, giving a warning message if any queries fail to build.

Had any queries failed to build, the failed queries would show in this message box, allowing you to copy and paste them and email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
