Various system variables relevant to the timetable can be specified or viewed on this screen.

Import export area
The import area is any folder that you, the timetabler, has access to. It does not need to be a network path but can be. Any timetable files exported from SchoolBase® will be stored here and when importing timetable files SchoolBase® will look for them in this folder.
Group name format
This setting allows you to choose your preferred format for display on timetables.
Folder for templates
This refers to the folder where all template files (not just timetable templates) are stored. The setting is there for reference only which is why there is no Browse button. It should be set by the System Manager using the System Variables form.
Standard staff TT/Standard pupil TT
SchoolBase® provides several standard timetable layouts or you can customise your own Word templates. If you are using templates it is essential that either use a global template or you nominate the template to use with each part of the school. To do this click on the Pupil/Staff specific timetable setting button.
It is essential that staff are members of a part of the school. This is set on the School tab of the Staff record in the Attached to: box. If everyone teaches across the school we suggest you add a Pupil Type (PType) (it needs to be a number between 91 and 99) for ‘All Staff’ and then ensure all staff are attached to this type.
Selecting timetable templates:-

TT Template
This is the name of the global template used for timetables. It can be overridden using settings in Pupil types form as described above. If you are using custom (Word) templates, this needs to be entered as Custom.
Blank period text
Rather than show unallocated pupil lessons as empty boxes, you can choose to display a particular label such as ‘Study Period’.
Timetable Style
SchoolBase® also allows you to configure the output style by setting output format parameters.
