Staff availability
You may wish to set those periods when staff are not available, particularly for part-time staff. To do this go to the Manage menu in the finder screen, then choose Staff and View.

You will see a list of current staff. You can set here whether the member of staff is part-time and how many periods they are contracted to teach. The filter menu can be used to filter to full or part-time staff.

The periods/week can be set individually for members of staff or by going to the Staff menu and selecting Set Periods/Week. If you have filtered the list of staff to full or part-time staff then selecting the option to set the period/week for all staff will only set it for the filtered staff in the list.
It is worth at this stage setting the default room where appropriate. This will speed up the creation of the timetable as any lessons created for each member of staff will be automatically assigned to their default room.
You may then use the View menu to mark when staff are unavailable to teach. You can drag over multiple periods and then right-click to set the required reason. If you have selected multiple periods you must right-click on the last period selected or you will lose the selection. This is a known issue and we are working on a resolution.
