Tagging of pupils is now completely managed from the Pupil Finder, allowing us to scrap the ‘Pupil Categorisation’ (TagSetter) form. There is a new ‘Tags’ button at the bottom of the right hand side of Finder, which opens the tag management area. Create tags simply, the same way as for staff and feeder schools, by selecting the pupils you want in the tag and typing in a name for the new tag. You can choose to make your tags private or public, and if private select delegates who also h ave access. Everyone will be able to see all tags, but you can only edit or delete if the tag is yours or you are a delegate.
Tags will no longer be deleted after an expiry date, it’s up to you to manage the tags you have created.
Here is a worked example. Let us say we wish to tag all the girls in my house (Nicholson) from two different year groups (10 and 11) who are going on trip to the National Theatre. The idea is to send the same letter to the parents of all of them in a single run. Here are the steps:
- Set the criteria for the two year groups and the house as in the first figure below.
- Click on the Create a new tag button and enter the name National Theatre as in the second figure.
- Click on the Create label from new tag set button.
- Click on the Add selected pupils to Tag button.
- You can also Remove selected pupils from Tag.
