You can select a number of feeder schools and retain that selection for future use. In SchoolBase we refer to this as a Tagged List. You can create a tagged list in two ways:

Manual Selection

  1. Open the Feeder Schools form.
  2. Select the schools you want to add to the list by putting tick in the Tag column. (You can tick all schools by clicking on the All box at the top of the column - or clear them all by clicking the box again.)
  3. Give the tag a name in the New tagname box.
  4. Click the Add selected to new tag button. The tagged schools are always listed first.

Automatic selection

  1. Open the Finder form (usually by selecting Current pupils - edit or Current pupils - view only from your menu).
  2. Select the pupils whose feeder schools you wish to tag.
  3. Click on the Functions tab.
  4. Click on the Tag Feeders button.
  5. Enter a name for the tag.
  6. Click the OK button. The Feeder Schools form will now open on the newly created tag.

Adding to a tag

If you want to add new schools to an existing tag:

  1. Select the required tag in the Select tag dropdown.
  2. Place a tick against the schools you wish to add.
  3. Click the Update tag button.

You can also delete a tag using the Delete tag button or rename it using the Rename tag button.

Using a tag for mail merge or labels

If you want to send a prepared letter or use a prepared set of feeder labels with a tagged list of schools:

  1. Select the required tag in the Select tag dropdown.
  2. Select the merge letter or merge labels in the Mail merge or Label merge dropdown.
  3. Select Tagged from the Criteria dropdown.
  4. Click one of the Go buttons.
