Application Types

This page holds an area which was intended for Application Types but has become much more widely used than that. Schools record a multiplicity of different information here and there are a number of reports that will show this data. The first figure above shows an example of data entered in this area. The second shows the form where the ‘application types’ are stored. (Accessible from Lookup Forms.) Associated with each is a code which can be used to display the information on a report in abbreviated form in order to keep reports short. The Order is used to rank this extra information so it is displayed in a consistent order.

If a selection is ticked it is highlighted in red and is shown in colour or emboldened on reports. Remember – the notes area is there to be used.

You can make as many entries here as you wish. As soon as you begin adding a new one a space will appear for the next. If you wish to delete an entry, click on the Delete Record button.

Stage

This is a list of possible stages which an application can go through from the initial enquiry to final enrolment. Only one can be selected for each prospective pupil and the stages can be tailored to match your school’s procedure. Try to avoid having too many categories as this leads to confusion.

Offer Type

These are the types of offers of place which may be made to a prospective pupil. As well as recording what offer has been made, they are used to determine which letter is sent to parents.
