Default xls Drive There are various occasions when spreadsheets are generated by a user – this should contain the name of the drive that a user will normally store such a spreadsheet in. Help system variable This value is no longer used. Exam files This is the location of the folder for storing files that the Examinations Officer is exporting to the boards. SchoolBaseAtHome If you plan on using SchoolBase@Home you will need to specify here a folder to store SchoolBaseAtHome.mde in a place that the system can access to store the files for the user checking out data. Templates folder SchoolBase® can make use of timetable, label and letter templates you create in Word or some other external product. Specify here a folder to store these templates which is accessible to all users. Extended Merge folder A temporary folder required when you are creating your merge files directly in Word using the extended merge process. The path must be applicable to all users, i.e. somewhere on the local drive, somewhere on a shared drive, or on the user's network area. Mail merge temp files When users use the mail merge facility the system needs to store a file ready for Word to use. This will be written to their local drive in the same folder as the application but in some schools, this is not accessible to the user – in these cases you will need to specify here a drive they can use uniquely for themselves. FBS mail location The location needed when using web mail rather than Outlook Express. SMS Text Location The location used for temporary storage of SMS messages if you are using this facility.
