Pastoral reports tab

The form for entering pastoral reports is based on the pastoral report writer from SchoolBase which you are probably already familiar with. It allows you to see a pupil's academic and additional reports as well as writing the pastoral reports. This is invaluable for tutors to enable you to get an overall picture of the pupil's progress before writing your tutor's comment.

Any statistics (such as the housepoints, merits etc in the example above) can be entered at the top of the pastoral tab. All pastoral comments, such as form tutor comment, head teacher comment or house comments are shown on the same tab. The name of the staff member writing the comment appears in the drop-down box below. This should be automatically filled with the right tutor's name, but if it is wrong, or needs to be changed because, for example, a different teacher has been covering for a colleague, it is possible to drop down to see a list of all staff names to select from.

As with subject reports there is a 'Characters Left' counter for each comment box, showing you how many characters you have space to type. The system will not store any more than the allocated number of characters, so if you try to type or paste a longer comment nothing will be stored beyond the allocated length.

When finished, save your work, and use Previous and Next to navigate to other pupils in the group. To navigate to other groups, click 'Back to pupils', then 'Back to groups' to select another teaching group. Alternatively click the Home button when you are finished writing reports.

Alternatively, if you are writing pastoral reports for a short report, such as a grade card, you will probably get a report writer form where you see the Academic and Pastoral reports on the same page, like this:
