When you open the Mark Book, you see the welcome page, which shows your timetable, what you would like to happen when you click a lesson, and accordion menus at the left side. The Tags accordion, and all accordions for academic years, take you to mark books for the tag group or teaching group selected. For the full functionality of these markbooks, click here.
On the left-hand accordion menu, the Welcome button takes you back to this opening screen. Manage takes you to what is currently a very small menu:
This allows you to export your markbook to a spreadsheet, which will include your current marks, but cannot be re-imported into SchoolBase The Lesson plan item takes you to this form, where teachers can write lesson plans and notes, which are not published, and homework, which is published to parents and pupils if your school has switched this facility on. There is an offline version of this form for those who wish to set homework while in school.
Manage Tags is the last item in the Start accordion menu. It allows you to add and remove tag groups from your mark book groups.
Back to the Welcome screen, you can choose what you want to do when you click on a group in your timetable:
View attendance takes you to group registers. View Lesson Plan takes you to monthly lesson plans. View Mark Book takes you to the same Mark Book tab as by selecting the teaching group from the current academic year's accordion menu.
Markbook pageWithin the main Markbook page, you can have as many columns as you like and when you scroll across the names column remains in place. Any column can be sorted A-Z or Z-A simply by clicking the right hand carrot at the top of any column.
To add a large quantity into a cell you will note a + symbol appear when you hover over it. Click the + symbol to get a larger typing area – or just double click the box. There is no practical limit to the amount of data that may be entered into a single cell.

Use the left end of a column to select it and get another set of options: - Rename or delete a column
- Import, i.e. if it is the age of a pupil the field will update next time it is opened
- ExportÂ
