Accessible under Rooms in the Lookup Tables column of the Timetable Menu, this table should contain details of all teaching rooms (and others if you wish). Keep the Code short. The Name can be as full as you need. The Building is not used within SchoolBase® but can be used in a variety of reports. The Telephone No could be used to create an internal directory. The Capacity is used for some export functions but not within SchoolBase® other than for reports.
Wherever you see a field called Current, it is used to restrict the values which appear in pick lists. If it is not ticked, it will not appear. NEVER delete an old room, subject or staff member as you will probably have used that record in the past and deleting it (which the system would not allow) will cause problems with data integrity.
The Export code is just that and is used in the export/import functions only.
Where a teacher has a particular responsibility for a room this can be indicated in the Owner column.
A room can also now be allocated to a particular department (Dept.).
