Basics

When you first open SchoolBase® you are presented with the Logon screen which looks something like the illustration below:

You should have been given a user name which is probably your forename and surname e.g. Bob Bishop. It should only be necessary to type a few letters of your name and then press the Enter key. If this is the first time you have accessed SchoolBase®, your password will be ‘password’. You must change this before going any further. Type password into the Password box and then click the Change password button. The following form appears:

Enter your chosen password (it must have at least six letters and not be easy to guess - so don’t use the forenames of your children or partner). Enter it again in the second box and then click the Make changes button. You must now log on using your new password, entering your user name as before, then the new password, pressing the Enter key or clicking the Log me in button.

Some schools use additional levels of security for their logon. These are as follows:

  1. The user name has no dropdown and does not self-complete so it is necessary to type in the full, correct user name.
  2. New users do not have a default password. When their account is created, a random password is generated automatically and communicated to the new user by the system manager. This can subsequently be changed using the method described above.
