The test importer form should be allocated to your menu if you need to import into testing and tracking.

Before importing your spreadsheet, ensure it is formatted as follows:

  1. Only the top line is used for headings.
  2. PupOrigNum, SchoolBase's unique identifier for pupils, is the first column.
  3. The first 7 columns are allowed for identification information, so the data to be imported starts at column 8, (column H).

When this is done, use the importer form to bring it in.

Importer form

This form is quite self-explanatory. You start by giving your new test a name and date.

Stage 2 is to browse to your spreadsheet. The sheet name and cell range can usually be left as the defaults, but if your spreadsheet has named worksheets, don't forget to put in the name of the sheet with your data to be imported.

Stage 3 brings the data into SchoolBase and checks that pupils and subjects have been identified correctly.

Finally, the test is added to the database when you press Preparation complete - add now.
