Assessment
|
Clicking the Report Analyser button on the Assessment Menu opens this form. You can use it (among other things) to create spreadsheets of scores or grades in a variety of formats. First you must select an assessment set, a year and a grade to analyse. You can then analyse the full set of results or choose specific groups for comparison. Finally you click one of the buttons at bottom right:
Subject export - shows a list of pupils down the left hand side with their forms and houses and a column for each subject grade/score. If the pupil is taught for the subject by more than one teacher, only one grade/score is shown. Multi teacher - as for Subject export except that where the pupil is taught for the subject by more than one teacher, all grades/scores are shown separated by commas. Group Export - as for Subject export except there is a column for each group rather than for each subject with the name of the group and the teacher shown. This allows comparison between teachers. Vertical Export - as for Group Export except that the pupils' names are across the top and the subjects down the side. Grade distribution - you can use this to analyse how many of each grade have been awarded by subject or by teacher. This is a powerful tool with the facility to select teachers and subjects within the spreadsheet itself.
You can choose to include the pupil's position within the year on the spreadsheet by ticking the With position box. By default the smallest number (i.e. the best position) is displayed first but you can choose to do the opposite if that suits by selecting the other option from the dropdown. However, you must have given numeric values to your grades using the Grade Sets form.
Clearly there is no point in doing an analysis if the entries are incomplete. You can check the completion of a particular grade or score by ticking the relevant box, ticking the Check completion box and then clicking the Check now button. A list of teaching groups with incomplete entries will appear instead of the Specific groups list. You can print out a list of the selected groups by clicking the Report button.
See under Internal Assessment for further information about the Report Analyser form.
