Having selected the pupil(s) to be gated in the Pupils for gating form, you can use this form to set the details of the gating.

The Reason for gating is selected from the reasons in the Gating Reasons lookup, which you can access from the Gating Menu. Use the ... buttons to open a calendar window from which you can select the start and end date of the gating period. When selected, the date appears in the first box, the day of the week in the second, and the start time defaults to the earliest Gating Time in your list, with the end time defaulting to the latest time in your list. You can use the dropdown to change these times if required. 

You can add an additional note, choose whether or not to send an email to tutors, and decide whether or not to include weekend days.

When you have finished, you can choose to gate the pupils by pressing Gate and Close or Quit without saving.
