This centre panel lists all children as they are currently selected. As you change the Search Criteria you will see this list alter to reflect your selections.
The list of pupils in the centre automatically reflects these criteria and the number of pupils found is displayed at the top of the list. In the example below we now have 25 named pupils. The first figure shows the number of records which would be included in anjy actions we take, which at the outset is the same as the number in the loist. To see details of one pupil, double click on their name and their record will open. To see details of several pupils from the list, select them by holding down Shift (for contiguous names) or Control (for non-contiguous names). Several are highlighted in the second image below in this way. The numbers at the top now show the number of records which will be opened, out of the total in the list Then click on the Open button below the list. (To access a small selection of pupils you could also open all the records in the list and then use the Find box at the bottom of the pupil form to locate each pupil’s record. This may be faster.) If you have a long list and want to find one pupil, click on any name and then type the first letter of their surname. The list will jump to the first surname starting with that letter.
The Cklear selected button next to the number of matching records de-selects any highlighted pupils.
Note that all names are listed in the Standard name format with the pupil’s form appended to the end. This is used throughout SchoolBase® and consists of the surname followed by a comma and a space, followed by the first forename, followed optionally in brackets by the forename most commonly used (labelled Called on the pupil record) if that differs from the first forename.
If you wish to access as rapidly as possible either the main contact details for a pupil, a pupil’s timetable or their registration marks for today, point to the pupil’s name in the list and click the right mouse button. If you click on either of the two options the required window will open. This pop-up menu also shows the pupil’s roll number should you need to know it. Read more...
