Importing results   Viewing Results   Amending Results

Once the results have been published by the board and you have downloaded them they can be imported into SchoolBase®. Start by selecting Exam Importation from your menu. This will display the form shown here.

To get started click the Browse.. button and navigate to one of your results files. It will have a name something like R2332101.X13.

  1. Press the Get raw data button. This imports the data from the file into a temporary file in SchoolBase® and completes the four boxes below the button. At this stage you can look at the raw data before actually importing it to check that it is what you want. You do this by clicking the View (read only) raw data button.
  2. Clicking on the Check Subject Codes button should tell you that all the incoming subjects have been recognised. If not, you need to investigate the cause. If your entries were not made using SchoolBase® it may be that you have failed to select one of the subjects or modules.
  3. Clicking on the Check Candidate Numbers button should show you that all your incoming candidate numbers have been recognised. If not you need to check that you do have candidate numbers for all pupils. You can just close this form and come back to it as and when you are ready.
  4. You now click Import data. This is where the data is added to the real SchoolBas® and your pupil records are updated. Now click on the Clear raw import file button and REPEAT STEPS 1-4 UNTIL ALL FILES ARE IMPORTED. Only then use the appropriate step 5 button.
  5. Press one of the Step 5 buttons to calculate the points scores for each pupil ready for statistical analysis.

Once that is done you are ready to look at the results.
