Invigilation

The Cover system can be used to locate staff who are free to invigilate examinations.  Of course the examination times do not necessarily coincide with your lesson times but provided you do allocate invigilation on a lesson by lesson basis, the Cover system can provide the necessary invigilation lists.  Full details of this are contained in the Director of Studies manual.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q If I ticked something last year as being used, will it still be ticked?

A No, we find starting afresh each year less confusing than having some units ticked but not those whose codes  have changed.

Q What about examination fees?

A These will have been updated from the new base data. We have had occurrence of fees being missed out from basedata, and the Board later issuing a new set. If this happens, you simply need to re-import the Options file to obtain the updated fees.

Q What about times of examination?

A These have been uploaded.  Where you have 3 papers in the same session, which candidates sit one after the other, the base data has them all starting at the same time.  These will appear in the clash report.

Q I changed some names in the base data last time.  Will it have kept my names?

A Sorry no! We thought long and hard about this and felt it was far safer for each school to have the right name as it is now.  In some cases the boards have kept the same Option code but changed the names.  HOWEVER we will be issuing (as above) a tool that lets you re-name the options as you will.  The board entry does not require the name; just the code and we know from your previous feedback that some schools like this name changing option.
