This form allows you to select adults, related to the selected pupils, to whom you will be sending emails.

alt

Adult selection criteria defaults to choosing the Primary adults. If you press the button you can do more complex adult selections.

Once you have decided which adult records you are using, you need to decide whether to send to Email 1 (on the left of the adult record), Email 2 (on the right), or both, and whether you would like to send a copy to the pupil and any staff involved.

Ticking the staff box will display a new button Set Staff enabling you to find the relevant members of staff, either by selecting the link to the pupil, category, tag in the left hand options or manually highlighting their name in the right hand side column.

When you are ready click Copy Staff and Close to return to the main Email window.

Once there, press Email adults to get the FBS mail form where you can type your email message.

Although the adult email addresses are shown together in the 'To:' field, these messages will be sent as separate emails, using FBS Mail, so the adults will not be able to see each other's email addresses. If you are using Outlook, the messages are sent with the adult addresses in the 'BCC' field, and the sender's address in the 'To:' field. This means that the adults still will not see each other's email addresses, and that you will also receive a copy of the message. There have been cases of recipients spam filters blocking emails sent in this way, so you may find that you have more success with parents reading the emails if they are sent using FBS Mail.

The other fields here all work in the same way as any other email software, and you can choose to send the message(s) or exit without sending.

From v4.03 onwards you can send attachments with the summary copy of parent emails where the summary is going to staff. Select the attachment in the normal way and then tick the 'include' box as shown above.
