Checkpoints are a good way of tracking events that occur during the application process. See how to use them in pupil records here. The check point rank allows you to set the order that checkpoints appear in dropdowns. It is a good idea to match this to the order that these events usually happen in a typical application. There are automatic checkpoints created to record the date when a prospective pupil moved from one Stage of Prospect to another, e.g. 'Enquiry to Registered'. These are all created at the end of the list, with rank 9999, so they will be out of the way when you are selecting checkpoints to use. Please leave these as they are, or mark them as archived if you do not want to see them in your dropdowns. The archived tickbox overcomes the problem that you may want to stop using a checkpoint, but you don't want to change existing data where it was used. Marking a checkpoint as archived will remove it from the dropdown without compromising existing data.
