Here is one way of exporting a list of a teaching group to Excel.

•  open the Finder form e.g. by selecting Current Pupils – view only
•  select the Academic tab under Search Criteria
•  select your teaching group in the Groups box (you will discover rapidly the quickest way of finding it)
• click on the Export Builder button. This opens a new form as shown below if no previous exports have been created. Otherwise click on the New Record button and a blank record will appear. 

• Give the export a name so you can find it again and (if you wish) an explanatory note. If you wish to include parent data (addresses, etc) as well as pupil data then select the plus parents option in the Export type drop-down. Parent data includes telephone numbers and this can be tailored to produce, for example, only the Priority 1 telephone number.
• Now from the drop-down lists of available fields, select the fields you want to display in your report. For example, having selected all the pupils from Year 7, we want to display their surname, forename, date of birth, house and tutor sorted by tutor and house. For each field you require select it from the dropdown list and then click the Add button. After making the appropriate selections the form would look as in the figure below.
