This routine works in a similar way to the 'New Pupil' function, enabling you to check new entries against existing ones, but also showing remaining required fields in red.  Once all field labels on the form are black, there is sufficient data entered to enable the record top be saved.

The system will check to ensure that the chosen Mnemionic has not been used before, and ss you type in the name, the list below will filter to enable you to quiclky check that the member of staff has not been entered already.

If you are entering a number of records (for example when setting up the system for the first time, or where there are more than just one or two new staff starting at the same time, clicking the Add another button will enable you to rapidly enter several basic records.  For smaller numbers of entries, it may be more appropriate to click the Go direct to this new record button and continue filling in the details of the new member of staff
