ESSENTIAL – you must have started using the real time system – if not none of this functionality is going to work. We suspect that having started this you will make many change requests but we cannot contemplate making it period based as it brings together so many rooming elements.

The new Room Booking System integrates all current rooming functions with a 'casual' one-off system in an easy to use single form. You can search to a room, a building or any date. It is colour coded as follows:

Red is a timetabled item

Green is a room in use for examinations / invigilation

Orange is an activity

Purple is someone else's room booking

Blue are your room bookings and the system only allows you  to change your bookings not those of other people.

Making a booking could not be simpler - either double click on a space and it grabs the whole space - all you need to do is give a reason for the booking and click save. Alternatively you can hold the mouse down and drag from start to finish.

There are no recurring items, thus if you want to book the hall for assembly every Monday morning from 0830 through to 0900 use one of the many other tools available to you such as timetable exceptions etc.

Integration with Event Management

At the request of Portsmouth Grammar School we have integrated the event manager / calendar system with room bookings. From the event manager just click 'New room booking' to get just that or edit an existing booking by using the 'open day' button.
