It is now possible to lock certain parts of SchoolBase® to only show information related to the part or parts of the School the logged in member of staff works in. For example, if your institution is separated into a Boys and Girls School, it is now possible to ‘lock’ the pupil finder to only the part(s) of the School that you are attached to or teach in – seeing only the data on pupils relevant to you.
In a similar way Assessments can now be locked down to one or more pupil types – and during the Assessment set up and writing process, only those attached to or teaching in the part of the School the Assessment is for may see the Assessment listed.
The system knows which parts(s) of the School you are a part of from your Staff records – the system looks to the parts of the School you teach in, and if that isn’t populated, it looks to the part of the school you are attached to. If a staff member is not assigned either of these, they will see the whole school. These locks are activated using a System Variable in the new Options - 2 tab on the System Variables form.
