Email and Text to Parents
Restricting Access from the Finder
Two schools have requested that they be able to restrict those staff who may either Email or Text from the pupil finder form. This we have now addressed. If you are happy with your current process there is no need to take any action but if you wish to restrict to certain users, these are the steps to take.
1. Add two new entries into your StaffInfo form. This is the form that links to the secure staff information. We think schools will want to have different access to email than to text hence the need for two entries.
2. Now open the System Variables form and move the Email & Text tab where you can select the items you just set up for staff. Please note that if in the options area you have said (say) that text cannot be used, allowing staff here will make no difference – if you have it turned off it stays that way. If these are left blank, the system will behave exactly as it does now. You can fill one in and leave one blank if that is what your school needs.

3. Finally open the staff secure area and allow access to those staff you wish to give access to. If you want a lot of staff with this information you can use the staff finder to open many Staff records at the same time and then just click from record to record rather than open each one individually.
